Lisa, the talented mind behind this shop, is an incredibly talented artist - just look at these silkscreen prints! Her work has a sense of movement, a kinetic energy in it and I love the concept of drawing sleeping women from a bird's eye view. Tell me some basic info about yourself.

I'm 26 years old, from Australia, with a degree in Fine Art, an interest in almost all things art, design or technology based, and after a few false-starts in life eventually discovered the open arms of the world of art.

What kind of mediums do you use and why?

I was drawn to printmaking for its flexibility & versatility – there are so many methods & so much you can do with each – and also for its potential for reproduction and mass production (although still on a small, each done by hand kind of scale).

What made you decide to sell on etsy?

I was studying printmaking at university at the time and thought it might be worth trying to sell off some duplicate prints to make a little spare cash for more art supplies. I was surprised at how well it went in the beginning and I quickly began to devote more time to my etsy store, trying to develop a 'brand' & a cohesive look, rather than just an outlet store.

Where do you get your inspiration?

Largely from books – be it the big picture books in the art section full of amazing examples of other artists, artworks & techniques, or novels with inspiring stories, quotes, and alternate views on the world, or even books as art objects or materials themselves.

What is your favorite music to craft by?

Nick Cave, Martina Topley-Bird, Martha Wainwright, some upbeat mix of various songs on my computer, or even some Futurama.

When it's cold outside... 

I use the weather as an excuse to stay in where it's warm, and read or draw.

When I'm hungry... 

I try to find something that goes with coffee, and can be eaten at my desk, preferably with one hand while I type or draw with the other.

When I need a boost... 

I look back at some old works, or flick through sketchbooks of half done sketches & lists of ideas, to see how far I've come and how much more I still want to accomplish.

I wish I was/were... 

a little more confident, a little braver; then more of my ideas might actually materialize into something.

If I could give one gift to everyone I know, it would be... 

Their own personal, portable, impenetrable, worry-free, danger-free comfort zone.

If I could have coffee with anyone, it would be...

I’m not sure, I do tend to prefer a peaceful coffee alone..

If you were an animal, what would you be?

A cat, I’d say, if my fondness for sleep is anything to go by.

What's your favorite piece of your own?

My "Sheets of Paper" sets – I'm very proud of the work that went into making each print and each box, the way it all came together so neatly, and the way it can be rearranged or presented differently to present a different stream of thought.
